Kantech EntraPass Global Edition is a powerful,network-ready system that accommodates widely-dispersed applications with an unlimited number of users, controls thousands of card readers, and allows you to simultaneously access the system from up to 128 workstations connected to the network.
EntraPass Global Edition supports the Kantech KT-NCC3 network communication controller which improves system reliability by removing a layer of computers from the decision-making process. KT-NCC manages communication from EntraPass to any of the Kantech controllers as well as administers global features such as anti-passback, alarm systems, guard tours, and secondary access levels.
EntraPass Global Edition’s distributed architecture supports connections to remote sites using direct connections, dial-up modems, and TCP/IP communication with KT-100, KT-200, and KT-300 controllers (with Corporate Gateway) using Kantech IP Link, or KT-400 Ethernet-ready four-door controller

Video integration between EntraPass and American Dynamics Intellex digital video management systems dramatically increases security by linking access control events, such as “door forced open”, to a video clip directly from the access control application.
EntraPass Global Edition also integrates with the Kantech Telephone Entry System to bring you an access control solution with telephone entry access capabilities. A simplified version of the EntraPass software is included with each Kantech Telephone Entry System which allows for fast configuration and firmware upgrades, live transaction monitoring, and system backup. Powerful and Reliable Global Security
EntraPass Global Edition supports the extremely dependable KT-NCC when used with the KT-100, KT-300, and KT-400 door controllers, making your access control system easier to manage, easier to expand, and much more reliable. Now, instead of relying on a computer for communication between the controllers and EntraPass server, KT-NCC is in control, storing all events from the controllers.
The IT-friendly KT-NCC easily connects to your existing network with an onboard Ethernet port and communicates with any of the Kantech controllers, making it a very powerful way to expand an EntraPass Global Edition system. KT-NCC supports 128 controllers in the following ways:
• One RS-232 loop with 32 controllers
• Two RS-485 loops with 32 controllers each (total 64)
• Four IP loops using Lantronix with eight controllers per loop (total 32)
KT-NCC provides seven LED modes for quick assessment of system status, such as loss of communication, start up,
etc. A battery backup eliminates the need for a universal power supply (UPS) and ensures continual operation. New functionality can be flashed directly from the EntraPass server to each KT-NCC. For more information on KT-NCC,

Global Security Features
EntraPass Global Edition is ideal for widely-dispersed applications that require a higher level of security. For example, global anti-passback helps you prevent a cardholder from passing back his or her card to a second person to gain entry into a secured area, regardless of whether those areas are in close proximity or far apart. In addition, powerful alarm partitioning lets you divide an area protected by the EntraPass system into as many as 100 partitions per gateway and individualize the alarm parameters for each.
EntraPass Global Edition and KT-NCC also enable you to control clearances globally. For example, a worker with temporary access to one part of the building or campus will lose access once the authorized clearance duration has passed.
EntraPass also provides greater security and protection using muster reports. Mustering is critical for emergency situations where it is crucial to evacuate a building as quickly as possible. You can print a list of personnel in a predefined group of areas to determine who is present and if the area is secure when an alarm or event is triggered. Mustering also includes a parking management function which notifies users when a parking area is exceeding its capacity and restricts access to the area.
Simplified and Improved System Management
EntraPass Global Edition workspaces provide customized views of the system based on an operator’s access
privileges. Each workspace is created and defined in terms of devices – gateways, sites, doors, relays, etc. – and is configured to identify what areas of the EntraPass system the operator can access and view, such as desktop display, card fields, etc. Workspaces enable you to create different views of the EntraPass system that can be saved and applied to any user.
You can assign up to five cards to any single employee to avoid having to create five different entries in EntraPass. Access levels can also be applied at this time to ensure cardholders have access only to authorized areas. This function is also available when using EntraPass WebStation.
Manage Your System Remotely
Easily manage your system over the Internet using the EntraPass WebStation. The optional web interface provides remote access to create, modify, and delete cardholders without installing and maintaining additional workstations. You can assign primary and secondary access levels to cardholders, manually operate doors, relays, and inputs, view last card transactions, receive reports securely by email, and integrate and display live video from IP cameras, DVRs, etc. using WebViews.
You can translate the WebStation into any foreign language using EntraPass vocabulary editor. For convenience, EntraPass WebStation defaults to English and French.
SmartLink for Advanced System Integration and Automation
SmartLink is an application that enables any third party application or database to automatically interact with the EntraPass system. SmartLink uses built-in macros to help you integrate applications such as CCTV multiplexers,
paging systems, automated e-mails, HVAC systems, etc., by using an RS-232 or network connection between the system and the third-party device. For advanced system integration, SmartLink enables communication with software applications such as time and attendance, badging, human
resource management, student registration and more, through Ethernet, TCP/IP, an RS-232 port, API, or with DLLs. This allows complete and real-time data exchange between systems, eliminating duplicate data entry.
With the addition of the SmartLink Task Commander, EntraPass reaches new levels in task automation. Using the powerful functionality of the task builder, a series of tasks, similar to macros, are created and can be triggered on any event and component in the system. When an event occurs,
the tasks are then executed by the system. You can even manually activate these specific tasks directly from the interactive floor plans in EntraPass.
The SmartLink Task Commander with the addition of toggle functionality can be used to create a task that can turn on/ shut off lights and lock/unlock doors, relays, or inputs and perform other specific actions based on the identity of the cardholder. For example, a customer operating a storage facility can open specific storage room doors when they swipe a card at the main entrance door.

The Benefits of Video Integration
Integration with an American Dynamics Intellex digital video management system provides real-time video monitoring as well as video playback of critical access events. Video can be linked to access control events and recorded from different Intellex systems simultaneously. Presets, sequences, dome control, and 1×1, 2×2, 3×3, and 4×4 views are available through the EntraPass software.
EntraPass Video Vault
Installed on your network, the optional EntraPass Video Vault offers an alternative to manually saving each video clip one by one. Simply pre-define groups for your video clips (such as door forced or rejected card) and EntraPass Video Vault saves them to the appropriate group based on whatever schedules you choose.
Redundancy Server
EntraPass Corporate Edition offers an optional redundancy server with a mirror database to monitor all data activity on your primary EntraPass server and creates a real-time copy of the system database. In the event of primary server failure, the mirror database automatically launches the redundancy server which supports all the features and functionality of the primary server. Once the primary server returns online, all archives are merged and/or the entire database is copied from the redundancy server.
Virtual Keypad for DSC PowerSeries Alarm Panels
As part of the EntraPass workstation, you can communicate with DSC PowerSeries alarm panels using a virtual keypad.
The keypad makes it easy for you to arm and disarm the panels as well as configure in the same way as if it were an actual physical keypad – all from the EntraPass GUI.
